CHILDREN
Children love Bowen Therapy, their bodies are so open and receptive to the technique that a session depending on the age of the child does not have to take too long, anything from 10min to 30min.
Their body just accepts the new information and goes about making the adjustments and realigning without having to wade through the toxins and tension that adults hold in their bodies. I have many children that come to the clinic regularly and their parents tell me how their child begged them for a Bowen treatment.
Falls and injuries are part of childhood
Children are very resilient, and often after a fall or injury when playing, they just get up and keep on playing, not wanting to miss out on any fun. However, lots of these little (or big) incidents over time can build up into areas of tightness and pain.
As children get older, sports injuries are common, it is best not to play through pain as this can make the injury worse. If your child has injured themselves playing or playing sport, we recommend that you first visit your doctor/GP to ensure that no bones are broken, then bring them in for a Bowen Therapy treatment to help speed up recovery time by improving blood supply to the injured area and releasing constrictions in the soft tissues surrounding the injury. It is very important to note that the quicker you get a treatment after an injury has occured (hopefully on the same day) the quicker the injury will start to heal.
Bowen Therapy can also help treat more specific issues such as:
Sleeping problems, ADHD, asthma, autism, allergies, bed-wetting, constipation, cerebral palsy, chest infections, clicky hips, colic, croup, dyspraxia, eczema, glue ear, growing pains, headaches, muscular and skeletal problems, misalignment of the spine, panic attacks, psoriasis sinusitis, stress and many more. In addition it can improve/correct posture, balance and co-ordination helping the child learn new skills and improve confidence.
Overall benefits of Bowen Therapy include:
Improved sleeping patterns, more balanced energy levels, better concentration and application, enhanced motor control and behaviour and generally happier, quieter children.
It also aids recovery from trauma e.g. difficult birth, accident, a family death, divorce/separation within family. Some childhood ailments may require regular treatments.
